2026 marks 25 years of the Vanquish model and Ian Minards played a pivotal role in the development and production of the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. As Chief Programme Engineer, he was responsible for guiding the project from the early Project Vantage concept phase through to the first production car, ensuring the model met Aston Martin’s high standards of engineering excellence. His leadership oversaw the introduction of the Vanquish’s advanced aluminium and carbon‑fibre chassis architecture, which helped modernise Aston Martin’s engineering approach and influenced the company’s later VH platform. Minards’ responsibilities included ensuring the vehicle was delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality benchmarks, marking him as one of the key figures behind the Vanquish’s successful launch.
