I will start by recording how successful the
Drive for Rory 2 was in August. At the end of the day, we raised £2400 to support the children of CALM. The full story is on the Area 22 website.
The September meeting will be at a new location,
The Greyhound at Siddington. The “team” hopes you enjoy it, we have 31 booked. At the meeting I shall take up my new role as “clothing distribution gopher”, so please try and remember what you ordered!!
During September we have Area 22 members out on the roads in the UK and in Europe. The
Whitewell Getaway begins this Tuesday with members travelling up to Lancashire, back on the following Friday. We can hear all about their adventures next month. On Sunday 14 September twelve cars set off on the
Belgium Expedition negotiating the Channel Tunnel early Monday morning and we return the following Sunday. During the stay we shall spend time at Spa Francorchamps which I think we are all looking forward to.
Sunday 19 October we are having a simple “Popup Meet” at
Dunkertons Park, Cheltenham starting at 1200. It will be busy, but no booking is required; just turn up and enjoy yourselves. If you have never been to Dunkertons Park, it is a great venue with good food at a reasonable price. Taproom Bar – Dunkertons Cider.
Thursday 11 December will be the
Winter Gathering at the Frogmill. I have sent out an overview including the details of how to book a room should you wish to stay over. The same message is on the website should you have lost the e-mail!
Could I take the opportunity to remind you of the
AMOC AGM which takes place on Saturday 20 September. Details on the AMOC website.
Whilst it seems a long way off, the
Area 22 AGM will take place on Thursday 5 February. As required by AMOC, your management team must stand down and we will have elections. To prepare for this I intend to write job profiles for the four positions Area Rep and Assistant Reps, Admin, Meetings and Events. I will publish these later in the year in the hope that you may be inspired to step forward. I would mention also we shall vote for our 2026 charity, so ideas are welcome.
Full Information on all our meetings and events is available on the Area 22 website and in e-mails from Mike and Ray. The team hopes to see you at as many meetings and events as you can make.
