Area 22 Astons in the Orchard

The sun shone on more than 40 Area 22 members and friends as they enjoyed the tranquillity of the Perry Pear Orchard at Helen and Phil Trussell house near Broadway. The champagne corks were soon popping which was the signal for the picnic to commence. Posh tables, wobbly chairs, tablecloths and even a vase of roses swiftly appeared as the salads and sandwiches were unwrapped. Some folks more prepared than others, it must be said!! Walking round I noted intense conversations ranging from Phil’s greenhouse to the Stock Exchange. We had intended to play the Area 22 Croquet Challenge, but the quiet ambience took its toll and time rolled past. After a fabulous afternoon the countryside was aroused once again by the sound of Aston engines as folk took their leave (some noisier than others).. thank you for a great afternoon Helen and Phil … we will be back next summer if you will have us.
