1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 Vignale wins Best in Show

Salon Privé London 2023, held at the historic Royal Hospital Chelsea produced the perfect result for Aston Martin and Feltham era cars. The ‘Concourse de Vente’ is limited to 75 cars featuring classic marques such as Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley, Porsche and of course, Aston Martin. Against such fine competition the judges awarded the unique 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 Vignale, restored by Aston Workshop over the last few years, not only won class 3 in the– the class for cars over £1 million, it also won the ultimate prize of Prix d’Honneur for the best car at the show.

The DB2/4 Vignale has bespoke body styling and a unique interior. It was originally commissioned by King Baudouin of Belgium. Twelve left-hand drive DB2/4 rolling chassis were delivered in period to Italian and Swiss carrozzaria. Of these twelve, Vignale of Turin received two with this car being the sole surviving example.
