New Chairman drops in on Area Meet

Stephen spent time getting to know and listening to members concerns and wishes for the future of the Club. Members were intrigued to know what Stephen and the team are doing, but keen to share their own thoughts.

Afterwards, Stephen said he was delighted with the warm reception he received, and it was a pleasure to see how much enjoyment the Members get from the Club, the area meets, the people and their cars. It is in essence the same pleasure that the founding Members had when the Club was started in 1939. “It is what the Club is about, and I am excited about the future” he enthused.

Stephen commented on the positive energy Area 15 Members showed towards the Club and the activities put on by both the Area and the wider organisation. He was energised with enthusiasm to share the ideas Members had pitched him, with the rest of the Management Committee. Watch this space.

There are Area meetings across the UK and the world, run by Local Representatives, exclusively for AMOC Members. This ensures members can connect with other local Members, as well as the wider AMOC community. The Local Reps coordinate communications, events and other social gatherings for Nembers in their area. Events range from monthly evening meetings, Car and coffee meetings, visits to special places of interest, driving tours, attending various car shows, BBQs to Gala evenings.

One Member at the supper disclosed he had been a Member for 10 years but only been going to meets for the last six months and was now kicking himself for all the comradeship and knowledge he been missing. More information about the Areas can be found on the Areas Overview page.

Area 15 covers a chunk of the country taking in Northamptonshire & Bedfordshire but welcomes Members from the surrounding areas as well as those passing through from further afield. Area Rep Mark Rolfe does an excellent job at balancing geographic locations to suit Members from across the area and with his deputy Andrew are outstanding in organising a wide variety of events from pub meets to drives to black tie dinners. Area 15 is a great example of ‘The Club is its Members, and its Members are the Club’.

We look forward to more drop ins from the MC across the country.
