This third (or was it the fourth?) garden party hosted by Paul & Jan Gerring was a roaring success.
The rain of the previous day gave way to warm sunshine and a light breeze, perfect for bringing out a superb range of makes and models.
It was also conducive to milling around chatting, drinking tea and eating cake.... lots of cake
😊.
Paul took a few lucky souls for a spin around the block in his 1928 Bentley 4.5L Le Mans. Already existent smiles were made wider by the time they returned with stories of "what torque!" and "what brakes?"!
The event raised £300 for Jan's favourite charity, the RAF Benevolent Fund.
We also took the opportunity to (at last) hand over the Area 4 2020 Award plaque to Anthony & Barbara King to warm applause from all present.
Well done and thank you to all who supported this Area 4 gathering (including a few who unfortunately couldn't make it at the last minute for a variety of reasons... none of them being the dreaded 'pingdemic').
