ASTONS IN THE ORCHARD – The Return
Sunday 23 June
Last year at Midsummer, Area 22 was invited to spend time in Helen and Phil’s 19th Century Perry Pear Orchard. We enjoyed a quintessential English Sunday afternoon amongst the pear trees with friends, picnic tables and champagne.
We must have behaved ourselves as we have been invited back. This year the event will be on Sunday 23 June between 1300 and 1700 at which time we will quietly depart and leave the orchard for another year to Charlie! The event is free to attend but as Phil and Helen actively support The Alzheimer’s Society, they ask for a £10 per person contribution to help the ongoing work of the Society. Last year we raised £600. Thank you so much for your donations.
There is space amongst the trees for up to forty Astons with a few spaces reserved for some other interesting classics that may also attend. Bring along your own tables and chairs, picnic food, Champagne, wine whatever is your tipple and relax, chat and mingle in a peaceful rural setting. There will be an endless supply of tea, coffee, water and essential “Champagne refrigeration”. We have booked warm sunny, weather so no problems there!
This year there will also be prizes for the most desirable Aston, most desirable non Aston, as well as a special prize for the most extravagant picnic set up. All voted for collectively by the attendees.
The house and orchard lie approximately three miles east of Broadway, right on the Gloucestershire and Worcestershire border. Exact directions will be provided to those attending.
