Area 22 Drive It Day

This the third year that Area 22 has supported National Drive It Day. The concept was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005. It is the occasion when vehicle enthusiasts celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It has turned into a national fund-raising effort and again this year the benefactor is the NSPCC Childline.

Ok, so having said, that what are we going to do ….we are having breakfast, a coffee stop and a fabulous Sunday Lunch. It’s that simple.
We shall RV at 0930 in the Roots and Seeds Café in Cirencester Park. After breakfast we leave to drive southeast to Bowood House near Calne in Wiltshire. Here we find the Treehouse Café offering some very fattening delights if that is what floats your boat! From there it is the drive north on some excellent driving roads to the Feathered Nest Inn to enjoy a late Sunday Lunch. This venue is one of the finest in the north Cotswolds, you will not be disappointed. The total distance is in the region of 112 miles depending on how many wrong turns we make.
