Ronan Pearson (born 4 October 2001 in Fife, Scotland) is a British racing driver competing in the 2026 British GT Championship. After six formative years in karting, he progressed through the Junior Saloon Car Championship and became a title‑winning talent in the Michelin Clio Cup, securing the 2019 series crown. Pearson then established himself as a front‑runner in the Mini Challenge UK before making his British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) debut in 2023. He claimed his first BTCC victory in 2024 and has now joined GBR/Stratton driving a Vantage GT4 for the GBR/Stratton Motorsport Team. Ronan is emerging as one of the sports brightest youngs prospects and was awarded a place on this year’s AMR Driver Academy.

Simon: You were involved in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) last year. Could you tell me a little about your career to date?

Ronan: I've been racing in karts now for 11 years, which is incredible. I have been in the BTCC for the past three years. Last year was a part season for me, with a view to looking at the bigger picture and moving into the world of GT racing, which is uncharted territory for me. It's already proved to be quite fruitful. It's completely different machinery. We're in rear-wheel drive, factory-built cars, and I'm loving every minute of it at the moment. It's been a really welcome move. I'm really happy and just so glad to be back at a race circuit and enjoying it again.

Simon: Is today your first drive in a Vantage GT4?

Ronan: Yes I'd never driven the car before. We had the first rollout session here for media day, and it was absolutely incredible. I have had some time on the Base Performance Simulator being coached by Jonny Adam—he's been doing a lot of work with us. With regard to the Vantage GT4, it is right-hand drive. Normally, I'm sat on the left with a brake pedal, hoping that everything's going to be all right. I have just returned from my first run out around the circuit and what a machine!

Simon: Had you any previous experience with Aston Martin?

Ronan: No, I hadn't really driven an Aston before, apart from a road-going Aston Martin around Knockhill.

Simon: Congratulations on being chosen for the AMR Academy.

Ronan: Thanks, yes being involved in the Academy is a huge thing for me—so many contacts to learn from, and I can gain a huge amount. I actually had the first day down here yesterday as part of the seminar programme.

Simon: And ultimately, your ambition is in GT3 with AMR?

Ronan: Yes, for me, my attention is set on becoming a factory works driver, hopefully sooner rather than later. But there's a process to follow, of course. You can't run before you can walk. Being in the GT4 car this year is a great step.
