Area 22 Calendar November 2025

Area 22 Rep Andrew Mitchell | Published on 10/27/2025

Having just come in from cleaning the car in the sunshine, I have sat down to write this text, and it has started raining! Typical!  I guess there will be much more of this as we move into the last two months of the year.

Before I move on, I will mention the event on Sunday 19 October at Dunkertons Park. It was intended to be a simple “turn up, talk and eat” meet. The object was achieved as eight of us turned up, talked for two hours and ate great food costing 60% of what it is at our regular haunts. I enjoyed the music; Ray enjoyed the cider. Maybe Sunday was the wrong day?

The meeting this month is at the Bear of Rodborough on Thursday 6 November. Those going will have wrestled with the online booking system. I am sorry it was late going out. This was another example of an establishment slow to respond to e-mails but want the food order in yesterday! The November event is the visit to Arkells Brewery in Swindon on Wednesday 26 November. Ray tells me that this event is a complete sell out. We look forward to meeting for lunch beforehand and then it is across the road to the brewery.

Thursday 11 December will be the Winter Gathering at the Frogmill.  We need to start the final preparations for this event shortly. Currently there are 10 places available. Bookings will be closed on Tuesday 11 November at which time the Frogmill will release any saved rooms to the public.  Bookings made after 1 November please remit the full amount of £65 per head to the Area 22 bank account, those who have paid a deposit please remit the balance by 11 November. In this way we shall have the final numbers and can finalise the preparations. More details at: Area 22 Winter Gathering - Events - Aston Martin Owners Club

The New Year Buffet will be on Saturday 10 January. Planned for the Ragged Cot, we have again had problems so the event will be at The Greyhound, Siddington. The usual notice will go out in December when the details are finalised.

Looking further ahead, the current team has decided that in 2026 there will be no foreign expedition. Instead, we shall have two or three short sojourns in the UK. The first planned is the “Salop Gallop” between 6 – 9 October. This will be three nights, four days at an old coaching inn called The Bear at Hodnet. I have provisionally reserved all 12 rooms. I have sent out an email about this so if you are interested, please let me know before Thursday 20 November. Currently there are three rooms left vacant. News on the second trip will be released when I have finished my research.

Ray and I will be representing Area 22 at the UK Area Reps meeting in Meriden on Saturday 8 November. A main agenda item is the AML - AMOC Licence. It should be a lively discussion, and I will report next month.
