Area 22 Calendar July 2025

Well, ladies and gentlemen, the summer solstice has been and gone. The time when the sun turns south; solstice being derived from the Latin “solstitium” which literally means “sun stands still”. So, having got that out of the way, Area 22 can look forward to the second half of the year.

This month we are meeting at The George in Cambridge, a new venue for us. Mike tells me that the projected attendance is not as high as last month, which was an Area 22 record for a monthly meeting.

However, coming shortly on Thursday 10 July we have our flagship event for the year, the 90th. Anniversary of the founding of AMOC which will be held at Berkeley Castle. Arrangements for this are now complete and Ray will be sending out the final instructions shortly. Arriving at a venue built in 1057 with 56 Aston Martins presents a challenge, so please adhere to the arrival timings in particular so that we can manage the parking in the castle grounds.

Karen and Ray have put a huge amount of work into this event to make sure it goes smoothly for you, and I thank them for that. Also, if Ray has asked you to be a volunteer on the day, thank you. The Club had no additional feather flags available for this event, so we have bought our own! I hope everyone enjoys the day!

August brings the Summer Drive for Rory, our charity event, this year being organised by Rich Burgess. Please support this if you possibly can as this is the only event this year focused on the work of CALM (Children Achieving Lifelong Movement). The children are looking forward to joining us for tea at the end of the drive. All the details are on the website under: Area 22 drives for CALM and Rory - Events - Aston Martin Owners Club. You can register for the event here and pay £100 per car to the new AMOC Bank Account, reference “Rory – Surname”.

In September we have the Whitewell Getaway organised by David Harrold and he is in contact with those going on this trip. After that there is the annual Area 22 Expedition which this year is to Belgium. I would remind those going that the balance is now due.

July of course is full of other events, and a list of the major ones is on the Calendar.

Before I go it is statistics time and they show a 10% rise in Area 22 membership in 3 months. Figures quoted are end Q2 (Q1).

  • 127 (115) members in Area 22
  • 65% (43%) have attended at least one meeting or event
  • 293 (92) AMOC members attended meetings or events
  • 4 (1) were members from outside Area 22

Full information on all our meetings and events is available on the Area 22 website and in e-mails from Ray and Mike. The team hopes to see you at as many meetings and events as you can manage.
