60 years of Aston Martin DB6

Last weekend saw this year's Burghley Spring Concours, as well as celebrations marking the 90th anniversary of the AMOC, the 60th anniversary of the Aston Martin DB6 and the Vantage anniversary. It was a thoroughly successful event.
Saturday began with a two-hour drive. A beautiful route through the county of Lincolnshire, covered by around 20 Aston Martins. The weather was mixed, but the rain was expected to clear completely for the Concours.
Along the way, we stopped at some good pubs. In the evening, we went to the stunning Burghley House. First, we took a tour of the impressive castle, which is in exceptionally good condition despite its 500-year history. This was followed by the International Gala Dinner to celebrate the anniversary and officially announce the Spring Concours. The next morning, the Concours and the DB6 & Vantage Display took place in good weather.
We celebrated the 60th anniversary of the DB6 with a total of 17 Aston Martin DB6s. Eleven beautiful DB6s were given an impressive and fitting place in the oval directly in front of the castle to mark their 60-year history. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the AMOC organisers and the ladies and gentlemen of the castle. A 1967 Aston Martin DB6 by Peter Moore in its beautiful mink and the shapely green 1969 DB6 Mk2 Volante by Adrian David could be found in the spacious park. Four DB6s could be admired on the Concours grounds. The winner of the Newport Pagnell class was the green DB6 Vantage Volante in Olive Green owned by Mike Bradly Russell, which most impressed the critical jury consisting of Tim Butcher, Chris Bolton, Geoff Dische and Paul Clarke. Mike prevailed not only over the other DB6 participants, but also over the impressive DB4 owned by Andrew Williams, who had travelled specially from Connecticut, and the DBS owned by Simon Telfer-Smith, which is in excellent condition.
At the end, the award ceremony was celebrated by Michael Reed.
Many thanks to all the organisers of the AMOC who made this wonderful weekend possible.
