the sun has got his hat on
And he's coming out today

What more can I say!

Before I go further, let me tell you that after many, many months of trying, we now have a new bank account in the name of Area 22. All payments going forward will be made to this new account and the previous account in my name will be closed. Thank you, Nicky, for your patience. The details of the new account are:

Account name:          AMOC Area 22

Sort Code:                 60-05-16

Account number:      28265238

It looks as if we are starting the month at the Frogmill with the largest monthly meeting we have ever had. Mike reports that numbers are approaching 40, which is quite outstanding.  The bonus is that we have new members to welcome so please could those attending wear their badges!

Two days later on Saturday 7 May we have visit to the Middlewick House Open Day with Area 13. As Ray has told those attending, we need to make an early start to avoid the traffic so we will be meeting at Morrisons car park just off the A350 Chippenham bypass (SN14 6UZ) at 0745. By doing this we can secure the parking that we want for the 40 cars which are booked. We are looking forward to a great day out.

Sunday 22 June will be our third annual event to Helen and Phil’s Astons in the Orchard to enjoy a quintessential champagne picnic. If you are planning to attend, please let Phil know at phil_trussell@yahoo.comas soon as possible so that he can finalise his arrangements. Details will be sent to those attending.

July brings our flagship event for this year, the 90th. Anniversary of the founding of AMOC which will be held at Berkeley Castle on Thursday 10 July. This will be the largest event ever organised by Area 22 and I would like to thank Karen and Ray for the extensive work they have already put into making this a great day for all of us. The event is now closed as we have reached the maximum number. Shortly, Ray will be seeking volunteers and also sending out instructions to those going.

August brings the Summer Drive for Rory, our charity event, this year being organised by Rich Burgess. Ray has already sent out details on how to register for the event and pay your £100 per car to the new AMOC Bank Account reference “Rory – Surname”.

In September we have the Whitewell Getaway organised by David Harrold and he is in contact with those going on this trip. After that there is the annual Area 22 Expedition which this year is to Belgium. The date for payment of the balance due is coming up shortly.

In addition, of course, the calendar is full of other events from AMOC and AMHT. There is also Le Mans, Goodwood, Simply Aston, British Grand Prix and as I said last month, the list is endless.

Full Information on all meetings and events is available on the Area 22 website and in e-mails from Mike and Ray. The team hopes to see you at as many meetings and events as you can make.
