Area 22 - Visit to A.J. Glew - Rolls Royce Engineers

Tuesday 21 March, 22 members of Area 22 visited the premises of A.J. Glew Limited in Blockley. Founded by Allan Glew, an Rolls Royce Engineer, in 1997, the company specialise in restoring pre 1925 40/50 hp Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts and Rolls-Royce Phantoms 1 and 2 marque.
After enjoying coffee and cake (thank you Sue Glew!) Allan went through the history of the company and explained in detail the nuances of the seven cars he had at the premises which together demonstrated how the Marque had developed over the years. We heard the story of the car which had arrived totally in bits in the back of a Transit van. Thank you Allan for your time and for answering our questions. We moved on to The Plough Inn at Stretton-on-Fosse where Graham looked after us with sandwiches and bowls of excellent chips. A tasty finish to the day!
