Area 15 Rep | Published on 9/30/2020

Sywell Aerodrome, one of our regular venues, re-opened within Covid rules and we were able to have an outdoor, socially distanced “meeting” as there is a massive car park, which even with other visitors and ourselves wasn’t even a third full. Being an aerodrome we could all keep our distance, with some members enjoying the food from the venue and some bringing picnics. I’m pleased to say the 50 members and 25 Astons that attended, all obeyed the Covid and the venue’s rules immaculately, not that I expected any different but thank you everyone.

There were several new attendees and some infrequent attendees who came along, Jamie Hawthorn (Vanquish), David Abraham (looking to buy a Vantage), Michael Ottway (DB7), Phil & Lex John (new Aston soon), Sally & Tony Nixon (DB9), Nic & Fang Barrow (V12 Vantage), James Alexander (Vantage) & Graham Brown. It was good to see you all and we look forward to seeing you again.

Brian Dent & Ebony Soltani-James played spot the difference with their twin Vantages (See photo). Spot the difference......

Chris Spruce’s Rolls Royce Wraith (we allow interlopers) was much admired, especially the twinkly headling. A couple arrived in a Morris 1000, to visit the venue and the first person they saw, was one of our members who he’d worked with at AML.

With lockdown rules etc. changing, I'm still attempting to confirm details events and venues for our monthly meetings, I’ll send out emails when I have more info, so keep a watch on your inbox.

We are also considering having more meetings towards the end of the year (weather, Covid etc. allowing) and possibly weekend get togethers.

The inaugural Area 15 Photo Competition is being judged as I write this and the results will be announced at our meeting this month (assuming we can have one) and will appear in next month’s AM News.
