The second Ponthir Classic was a great success

Area Rep | Published on 8/29/2017

The second Ponthir Classic was a roaring success. In 2016 there were 45 cars. This year saw 125 cars on display, in addition to the bands, charity stalls and food vendors. Organiser and AMOC member Andy Webber also booked fabulous weather; not something that one can usually rely on for August Bank Holiday!

L-R: Phil John (Area 10), Andrew Fawkes, Jan Gerring and Paul Gerring (back to us) enjoy the August Bank Holiday sunshine.

A varied collection of cars and few car clubs represented.

Military vehicles also welcome (and who's going to argue with them?)!

Plenty of room for more display vehicles next year!

V12s cooling off on arrival.

Organiser Andy Webber (Area 18) and son Max. Max has rather taken a fancy to some GT8 keys... good potential for future membership there one imagines!

Max also demonstrates a toothy grin and a DB9 GT windscreen that needs cleaning.

Thanks to Andy Webber and his team of helpers for a well organised day that raised over £9,000 for the village football and cricket club whose beautiful ground hosted the event.

Thanks too to everyone from AMOC who supported the event, much to Andy's delight.
