We returned to the Mullion Cove Hotel for our 2017 Christmas Party. Having looked after us so well last year, expectations were high as we again had exclusivity of the hotel for the weekend and a great time was had by all. My thanks to all that attended and, in particular, for the fabulous leaving presents that I was given and that I will cherish.
We were at full capacity again with all 30 rooms taken and 58 people attended the party. Lots of noise as people caught up at the pre-dinner drinks and the food we had was excellent. we then went on to the speeches, my last as Area Rep, because Colin Stewart was officially voted in as Area Rep and Ray Perry as the Assistant Rep. I also provided a summary of my years in charge and you will be delighted to know that I will not be repeating them here!
As well as my presentation Tim Hipwell was also recognised for the work he had done as Webmaster prior to him stepping down last year.
An excellent evening conceded with a toast to the Club (and Area 20) and then people moved off to enjoy the disco that had been provided by the hotel.
We all wish Colin and Ray good luck in taking the Area forward and I hope that as many people as possible will support the events they have planned for this year.
