As my first year as Area 20 Rep has nearly past, I thought I would write a brief list of all the events that have taken place during 2019.
Our first meeting of 2019 was in February where we had Sunday lunch at the Glazebrook House Hotel. We had 38 members with 20 Astons and beautiful sunny weather.
In March we had a new venue for our Devon Club evening at the Moorland Hotel Haytor near Bovey Tracey. We were not so lucky with the weather this time as Storm Gareth was at its worst, but we still had a good turn out with a few Aston Martins turn up.
April was a busy time with three events, the first was the Cornwall Tour withtwo nights at The Carbis Bay Hotel near St Ives and a visit to the Pendenis Shipyard. The next was a Devon visit to Petersen Engineering workshop and lunch at The Lewtrenchard Hotel.
At the end of April our first Cornwall club evening at our new venue The St Tudy Inn near Bodmin.
In May we returned to the Moorland Hotel for our Devon Club evening with much better weather this time.
June, we had two events, the Exmoor Drive with visit to the Lyne Valley Classic Car show Devon, and the Cornwall Club evening at The St Tudy Inn near Bodmin.
July, two events again, The Powderham Castle Historic Vehicle Gathering, Exeter and the Devon Club evening BBQ at the Glazebrook House Hotel.
August, we had an evening visit to The Theatre Royal Plymouth to see the show 'Motown the Musical'.
September Devon Club evening at The Moorland Hotel Haytor.
October two events, first a new venue for the Cornwall club evening was at the Plume of Feathers near Newquay, second was the Aston Martin test drive day with lunch at the Hartnoll Hotel Devon.
November we returned to Petersen Engineering for a second tour of the fabulous Bentley restoration workshop in Mid Devon.
Our last event of the year in December will be our Christmas Party at the Moorland Hotel where I shall launch the Area 20 calendar of events for 2020.
Finally, a big thank you for supporting the Area during 2019 and I look forward to a successful and enjoyable 2020.
