On Friday 16 December 2016 AMOC Area 21 Members were invited to an exclusive viewing of AM37 – the Aston Martin powerboat which recently made its world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.
The viewing of the only protoype in existence took place at the Royal Southern Yacht Club, in Hamble, where AM37 was moored, and was organised by Area 21 Representative John Glyde.
Members were given the incredible opportunity to be able to climb on board to view the craftsmanship and outstanding finish of the beautifully appointed boat. While on board Members viewed the bespoke cabin and cockpit of the new day cruiser which can be transformed into an overnight berth and will be offered in two versions, with the AM37S expected to reach speeds of 50 knots.
Aston Martin’s EVP & Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman and his design team collaborated closely with naval architect Mulder Design to ensure every element of the project was carefully considered. Sharing creative expertise and specialist skills, Quintessence Yachts engineered the Aston Martin design into an innovative powerboat for the yachting world.
AM37 combines the best in Aston Martin innovative technology, design and bespoke craftsmanship. The talented AM37 craftsmen also worked on cars including One-77, Vulcan and the new DB11
After their time on board, Members watched on as AM37 left its covered mooring adjacent to the Royal Southern Yacht Club to be lifted out of the water for a photoshoot before returning for final preparations to be transited to Miami, Florida, for its USA launch.
The First Production boat is expected in April 2017.
