Sunday 9th September dawned rather cloudy, but the sun soon broke through resulting in blue skies – perfect for the 7th Chearsley Car Show in aid of the development of Junior Cricket at our Village Cricket Club.
On the day we had 250 cars including 10 Aston Martins:-
We managed to say a few words about AMOC on local Red Kite radio, 107.2FM, although not much you can say in 20 seconds !
Our Astons were all parked together in a line, rather on their own but close to the BBQ and music marquee, and created a lot of interest and conversation from all those passing by.
The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight supported us with several flight passes of a 1944 Spitfire Mk 3, which originally flew in Squadron 447 in WW2.
There was lots to enjoy on the day, with live music, trade stands, classic coach rides around the local area, BBQ, Fish and Chips, Fun Fair for Children
A most enjoyable day which raised valuable funds of around £6000 for the development of Junior Cricket at our club. During 2018 we had nearly 100 youngsters registered with over 40 girls, a programme that was featured on SKY TV last year.
