Area 4 - Winter Warmer 3

Area 4's 'Winter Warmer' breakfast at Hartley's is now becoming an annual feature, this being the third running of the event.

We were blessed by reasonably dry and salt-free conditions to encourage out a few nice motors.

Gillian and I got there a little early to put up the Club banner. I was rather amused on arriving in our DB9 GT 'Bond Edition' to read 11007 on the clock.

We were joined by 5 other Astons and Bob Carter's lovely little Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV of 1971 vintage. Also of the same vintage was John & Liz Cheyne's DBS, fresh back from some repair and re-spray work that has kept the car away from our events for the last 12 months or so... welcome back!

As always, the team at Hartley's did us proud in terms of quality of the breakfasts and efficiency/friendliness of their service.

Unfortunately, I got so engrossed in the food and conversation that I completely forgot to take any pictures indoors. So, if you were there and you shouldn't have been, your secret's still safe.

The car park chat was also lively and with Rick Cullen arriving in the 'works van' a number of us couldn't resist a little shopping, even though he was reluctant to turn our event into a 'corporate do'. His business, Pit-Lane Racing sells motorsport attire and memorabilia, so naturally we were very interested! I couldn't resist a pair of Hackett AMR Team shorts ready for the holiday season.

So another good start to the car season for Area 4, albeit we have to wait a little longer now for the better (shorts) weather to arrive.
