@Will: are you going for the 997 TT as a interim solution until the V8 Volante or in addition to?
@Webby: the RV8 is indeed a fun car to drive; technically totally NOT advanced, but just a car with a lot of character; the only resemblence with an AM is..............that the girls love it! (much more than a Porker or Bavarian Cortina which in this area at least is considered way too "macho")

Albert

I will take a Volante when I am convinced of the reliability - though the outstanding service from AM that I have received leaves me feeling more confident and assured about buying one.
I ordered the 997 TT a while ago in the hope that I could start justifying a small stable of cars in the near future...

The work on my car has been completed - and it is being returned to me this morning, before Aston purchase it back off me.
It is due from WS in a couple of hours - and in a very timely fashion a Service Action Recall has just landed through my letterbox ("Power Train to Chassis Earth Integrity").
"This can lead to difficulty in starting the engine. Additionally, the possibility of the braided rear brake hose plastic shielding melting, leading to a softer and longer brake pedal, accompanied by a low brake fluid level Warning on the instrument panel. In these circumstances, the vehicle should imediately be referred to your Dealer for attention."
These may have been addressed during one of the instances my car was in a workshop - but I post it because many on this forum have been reporting these symptoms and this is a possible explanation / resolution.

'Lucky' is certainly not the word that I would use to describe my overall ownership experience...! Perversely, I would choose 'unlucky'.

My two pence worth is that the dealer was crap and Aston Martin themselves were excellent. It's a shame you can't buy a car directly from the factory as that might solve a few problems before they start. Aston need to revise their dealer list as I feel some have become comfortable with themselves and are ignoring their customers. Martin

Two year waitlists tend to make dealers lazy...
They won't last that long and then they'll have to work for the customer a bit more.
ho hum.

Absolutely spot on.
I don't think that I need to reiterate the point, but my dealer was inexcusably poor; additionally I was unlucky with the car.
However, I am still in love with the marque and look forward to returning to Aston Martin - and this is because of the awesome service from WS and Gaydon. I have never had to ask for anything - they have always offered it. It is the best car service experience I have had to date - but I only went down this route because of the dealer probs (ie. the first port of call remains with dealers).
Get out there and buy your Astons as the driving experience can't be touched. But, and I really mean this, choose your dealer with care - it can make or break ownership.
