By 1955, the DB2/4 was refreshed into a Mark II version. While very similar to the previous model, the Mark II was embellished by strips of brightwork around the top of the windscreen, along the sides of the bonnet and under the hatchback, which makes identification straightforward. Also the rear lights were mounted on fashionable '50's fins, although these were more subtle than on many other cars of the period. The 2.9 litre became the standard engine with a special series 165 bhp available as an option. Both closed 2+2 coupé and drophead coupé coachwork remained available with the addition of a particularly attractive and rare fixedhead coupé.
