By special arrangement with AMOC club racing, this years St John Horsfall Race Meeting will feature two track parades which will be open to a wide range of members cars. Firstly, we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the DB Mark III and I would like to invite members that own any Post-War Feltham car to join us. Whilst I am especially interested in seeing the DB Mark III, I hope that we can attract at least one of each type of Feltham car; quite a spectacle if it happens. In the second track parade, we would like to feature examples of all James Bond Aston Martins. It may be tenuous, but it's 007 for 2-007. The parade will be open to the DB5, DBS (six cylinder), V8 Oscar India and, V8 Volante (Weber carb models) and the Vanquish. I am expecting at least one car that has actually participated in the Bond film will be making a rare appearance. No entries will be accepted on the day. All participants must enter in advance direct to myself and allocation of space will be on a first come, first served basis. You are urged to contact me to get your name on the list ... right now! I am best contacted by e-mail

. If you could let me have the following details, it speeds things along for me. - Model and chassis number (last 5 digits is enough)
- Registration number
- Membership number
- Name of possible passengers
The parades will take place during the lunch break of the race meeting at approximately 1.00 pm. On arrival you will be directed to a special enclosure where your car will be parked safely throughout the day, and from where you will gain easy access to the track. You will have to sign on with our officials in the BRDC suite mid-morning. But you will have plenty of time to watch the motor racing throughout the day. May I remind you that insurance of your car is at all times your own responsibility and you should check with your insurers that you are covered for participation in this parade. Full joining instructions will be sent in good time prior to the event but I would like to make a few points. All passengers must have and use seatbelt if this is fitted to your car. If your car has rear seats but no belts then these seats cannot be used by passengers. Also, no under 18's will be allowed as passengers. Speeds are strictly controlled by the marshals and Clerk of the Course. It has also become customary for all seats in members cars to be fully occupied. If you have a spare seat in your car, you may like to offer it to another member especially if they are from overseas or don't yet own an AM yet. There will be a small entry fee of £10 per car payable on the day of the event. Tim Cottingham |
