Gaydon (2003-present)
|
Launched at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, the DB9 made a huge impact, heralding the beginning of a new era for Aston Martins built at the new Gaydon facility
The DB9 was the first production Aston Martin to use the Vertical Horizontal architecture, which allows many diferent body styles and sizes to be built on a basic platform.
Designed as a thoroughbred sports car with GT levels of comfort and refinement, the DB9 is powered by a 450 bhp version of the 6.0 litre V12, The powerplants were initially produced by Cosworth Technology in the UK, with production moving to the Aston Martin Engine Plant in Cologne, Germany in September 2004.
