 The open version of the powerful V12 Vantage was launched simultaneously with the coupe version at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. The Volante shares the body, chassis and engine modifications of the closed version. Whilst the Volante should be as fast as the coupe, the maximum speed of the car is limited to 'just' 165 mph with the 0 to 60 dash coming up in a shade over 5 seconds. Demand for the Volante is again strong and currently accounts for about 40% of DB7 production, many examples going to the US where there are many more opportunities to enjoy the opening roof.
