Welcome

AMOC Queensland started in 1980 when Bob Rusk invited Brian McMillan to become Area Representative. Since then Bob and Gordon Lepp have also been area reps. From the inception there has been a small but very enthusiastic group of members. Queensland hosted a most successful National in 1988 on the Gold Coast and have made their presence felt at a number of other Nationals. Until 2002 there were nine pre-war Astons in Queensland but four have since returned to the UK. At Christmas 2003 Pat Robertson imported a DB7 Zagato to enrich the cocktail. A good section of other cars make up the group. These days we hold a minimum of four functions a year comprising a couple of dinners in the Gold Coast-Brisbane area, and runs, mainly to country hotels in the Darling Downs area. This is a particularly great Aston touring area and the country pubs can usually accommodate our small group. And they are always keen to see us return. Individual members also attend sprint meetings at Gatton, Leyburn, and Murwillumbah – all of which are very popular. When in the area be sure to call. Any excuse for a party will do here in the Sunshine State.
