What better place to celebrate the Clubs 75th Anniversary than a Royal Place. Designed by Inigo Jones for James 1 and completed in 1622
Banqueting House astounded London society as it still does today. A sweeping staircase leads you up to the grandeur of the main hall whose proportions were calculated to meet the Roman idea of perfection
The magnificent ceiling painted by Peter Paul Rubens were commissioned by Charles 1 to glorify the achievements of his father and to emphasise the divine right of the monarchy.
Incidentally the ceiling was one of the last sights Charles saw as he walked to his execution at Banqueting House on the 30 January 1649.
The Ball to celebrate the Clubs 75 anniversary has now been finalised.
The evening starts with a Champagne reception courtesy of Taittinger with canapés in the undercroft. A three course dinner with wine on the tables, music to compliment the festive mood, followed by coffee and a glass of Port. The Anniversary committee has arranged a spectacular surprise cabaret then dancing till midnight with a live band.
All this for the princely sum of £185.00 per person. (which includes VAT at 17.5%)
This is the last major date for the Club until 2035 and therefore not to be missed.
Tables are for ten, so when ordering please inform the Club who you would like to sit with and your dietary requirements.
